Sometimes the best reason to plan a day out is knowing where you’re stopping for a bite.

For National Sandwich Day, we’re exploring sandwich stops around Old Town Spring, including breakfast options for an earlier start. Grab something before browsing the shops or settle in for lunch after exploring a few streets. A good sandwich fits into either kind of visit.

Pick your next breakfast or lunch stop from the sandwiches featured here.

Give those Halloween costumes an afternoon out in Old Town Spring.

On Saturday, October 31, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., participating shops will welcome visitors for the Annual Halloween Event organized by Old Town Spring Shop Events. Bring the family, explore the historic streets, and visit the businesses joining in the celebration.

Make time for lunch and a little browsing while you’re here. You may discover a shop you’ll want to return to long after the costumes are put away.

Old Town Spring is a fun place to bring the whole group, whether you’re planning an outing for a club, a bus trip, or a day with friends who want to explore together.

If you’re bringing around 10 people or more, let the Visitors Bureau know ahead of time. The team can help coordinate your visit and let the town know your group is coming. That gives you a better starting point for a day that might include the Spring Historical Museum, a meal, and time to browse.

To get started, contact the Visitors Bureau at 281-288-2355 or request a Visitor’s Guide and select Group Tours.

If you’ve ever picked something up in a shop and said, “My grandmother had one of these,” you know how easily browsing can turn into storytelling.

Make time for Emmaline Collective, MeRe Makings, and Alida’s Closet Boutique on your next visit to Old Town Spring, then keep exploring. Part of the fun is comparing finds with whoever came along and deciding which piece you’d like to take home.

Fall looks a little different to everyone. For some, it’s a pumpkin on the porch or something seasonal to bring home. For others, it’s finding a place to sit with a treat after an afternoon outside.

If you’re looking for your version of fall, take a walk through Old Town Spring. Browse the shops, see what’s in season, and give yourself time to enjoy the town along the way.

What’s the first thing you look for when fall arrives?

Your October visit to Old Town Spring could take a spooky turn.

Browse The Dark Side of Spring – Paranormal Bootique, hear the stories along an Old Town Spring Ghost Walk, or make plans for The Haunted Trails. There are a few different ways to get into the Halloween spirit, depending on how much of a scare you’re looking for.

Make time for a meal and some exploring before your evening plans, and check each business’s dates, hours, and booking details before heading out.

Who would you bring along, and who would need convincing?

The moment the Christmas tree lights up has been part of Old Town Spring’s holiday tradition for generations. On November 14, we’ll gather for it again as the Grand Christmas Tree Lighting opens Hometown Holidays.

Come spend time in town before the lighting. You can browse the shops, enjoy a meal, and be there when Santa arrives and the tree lights up. It’s the beginning of a holiday season that will continue in Old Town Spring through December 24.

Mark November 14 on your calendar. We’ll share more details as the celebration gets closer.

Before she owned German Gift House, Ursula Sledge was a customer who found something familiar inside: a connection to the home she had left in Germany.

When the previous owners were ready to retire, Ursula and a friend purchased the shop in 2008. What began as a place she loved visiting became a business where she could share German traditions and craftsmanship with others.

Today, you can browse nutcrackers, cuckoo clocks, glass ornaments, b**r steins, and German treats during an afternoon in Old Town Spring. Take your time with the details. You might recognize something from a family tradition or discover a craft you’ve never seen before.

Now there’s another stop to explore: German Gift House has added an Annex at 318 C Main Street, alongside its original shop at 210 B Gentry Street. On your next visit, make time for both and see what this longtime part of Old Town Spring has waiting for you.

A school yearbook and a published novel have something in common: this little typewriter in Old Town Spring.

Its story starts with a yearbook typed by the light of a kerosene lamp and continues with a novel inspired by the Spring area and the people who lived here. It is a reminder that local history lives in everyday objects, too, especially when someone preserves the stories behind them.

On your next visit, stop into the Spring Historical Museum and take a closer look. You might find yourself thinking about the town a little differently when you step back outside.
