Flower Distribution Project

What is Flower Distribution?
It’s when our members create beautiful arrangements in coffee mugs and then distribute them to the lovely residents of local nursing homes. We were able to make 120 arrangements.
The process went so smoothly due to our wonderfully organized chairmen Lorie and Vicki! They even made charts to help us along in our quest to make arrangements the proper way! We had new, semi-new and seasoned members and all levels of experience in doing design, teaching and helping each other in achieving our goal! We all had a great time making them and getting to know each other better!

Thank you Lorie and Vicki!💐🌼😊

Springfield Garden Club meeting.

Trish Manfredi, a National Garden Club Master Flower Show Judge, graced our presence with a wonderful presentation of key principles and elements of flower arranging. Trish created five beautiful arrangements and as she was making them would answer our many questions which she enthusiastically answered. We are all at different stages of needing guidance in our design ability!

Thank you Trish! 😊💐🌸

🌿🏆 Dr. Seuss’s childhood home has a garden worth celebrating!

Springfield Garden Club ’s years of volunteer care at the historic Fairfield Street property have earned two 2026 honors!

🌱 Landscaping of Historic Areas Award from National Garden Clubs Inc. .

🌸 Cornelia Williamson Watson Award for Historic Preservation from The Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts, Inc.

Since the Springfield Museums acquired the property, Garden Club members have generously shared their time, knowledge, tools, and resources to restore and care for its grounds. Their work has included removing invasive growth, improving the soil, and creating gardens filled with native and pollinator-friendly plants.

The Club’s year of recognition also included individual awards for floral design, horticulture, and educational exhibits—including Best of Show honors for Beate Bolen and Blue Ribbons for projects highlighting native plants and monarch butterflies.

Please join us in congratulating the Springfield Garden Club and thanking its dedicated volunteers for helping care for this special piece of Springfield history. 💚

Then, go home and plant them on a cool showery day - you and your plants will both be less stressed than on a hot sunny day 🤗

Saturday, May 30 from 9AM to noon at the Monkey House in Forest Park. The Trafton Road gate will be open. Cash, debit/credit cards and Venmo accepted.
