We are a mission entity under the Assemblies of God World Missions (AGWM) that works in Asia and the Pacific Islands. And the best is yet to come!
Follow us on Instagram at @asiapacificmissions and visit asiapacificmissions.org. From 1914 to the present, the work of the AGWM and the indigenous churches we planted has mushroomed from a handful to a multitude. Hundreds of people have served as missionaries over the years, many giving more than 20 years of service. In the Asia Pacific Region today, over 360 missionary workers labor in 38 countries and territories, serving over 28,000 churches and outstations with a total worshiping population of nearly 5.5 million people.

Last week, we met a man we’ll call Zacchaeus, because when we met him, he was literally in a tree.
As he worked nearby, we struck up a conversation. When Zacchaeus realized we were genuinely interested in his faith, he climbed down and spent the next twenty minutes talking with us about faith, Jesus and what happens after this life.
We shared our own stories of what Jesus has done in our lives. Zacchaeus told us he wasn’t sure that even Jesus lived a sinless life, and because he knew he wasn’t a holy man, he believed he would have to atone for his own sins after death. What an opportunity to share the Good News: “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21
Pray with us that Zacchaeus, and many others like him across Northern Asia, would come to know the hope and freedom found in Jesus.

Pray that God will send more laborers to be a part of what He is doing in Northern Asia. Despite official suppression and opposition, many hearts are soft and opportunities abound.
This summer, Bella and Thomas joined a short-term team serving in Northern Asia. One evening, while helping at an English teaching class, Bella mentioned Jesus. Her conversation partner responded with a question she wasn’t expecting: “Who is Jesus?”
It was the first time Bella had met someone who had never had the opportunity to hear the Gospel. For our teams serving in this part of the world, it’s a daily reality. Later that week, Thomas traveled more than 200 miles through mountain communities and asked why they hadn’t visited other workers sharing the Good News along the way. The answer was simple: “There are no other workers in these communities.” Thomas was moved to tears.
There are still people waiting to hear. Pray with us that more followers of Jesus would be moved to go.

Pray for greater access across Northern Asia. Many of the least reached and unengaged people live in remote areas that are difficult to access. Our teams are currently making short trips to build relationships and engage these communities, while praying for doors to open for a longer-term presence in the years ahead.
Pray that God would open doors, build trust, and create opportunities for the Good News to reach communities that have had little or no access to it.

Northern Asia is home to more than 1.4 billion people and over 400 unreached people groups. There are meaningful opportunities for the gospel to advance. Through education, business initiatives, and holistic ministry, workers are helping establish vibrant, culturally relevant communities of faith and sharing the transforming hope found in Christ.

Serving in Southeast Asia can look like simply being willing to build relationships with people who need the hope of Jesus. Here are some other specific opportunities to use your skills:
Arabic Ministry — Engage Arabic-speaking communities through intentional outreach. Whether you already speak Arabic or are ready to learn, there are opportunities to build relationships and share the gospel.
International School Teacher — Take your teaching experience overseas and invest in students and families from around the world. A teaching license and two years of experience are required.

In a sensitive country in Southeast Asia, a global worker whose ministry focuses on anti-human trafficking received a call from a young woman who didn’t know where she was. She couldn’t read or write, didn’t speak the local language and needed someone to find her.
The global worker began searching—and praying.
After hours of trying to piece together the limited information she had, God brought her attention back to a location she had initially dismissed. When the team went to investigate, they found the young woman exactly where God had directed them.
Looking back, the global worker realized there was no way she could have known on her own.
What a powerful reminder: God sees. God knows. And God has not forgotten those who feel hidden or trapped.
Praise God for this rescue, and pray for those who are bringing the hope and freedom of Jesus into some of the world’s darkest places.
