We are honored to help mentor the next generation of veterinary medicine.

A heartfelt thank you to our clients for trusting us with their beloved pets and allowing veterinary students the opportunity to learn, practice, and grow.

Dr. Carla Huston of the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine recently visited Gateway Animal Clinic in Arkansas.

While there, she presented a plaque of appreciation to Dr. Roger Helms and Dr. Martin Holsinger of the MSU DVM Class of 2025 for their support of our Enhanced Clinical Practicum program. Gateway Animal Hospital was one of the CVM’s first ECP Arkansas affiliates and has been mentoring students since the program began.

☀️ July is Here… and the Heat Is On! 🐶🐱

As temperatures climb, it’s important to help keep our furry family members safe from the summer heat.

Signs of Heat Stroke:
• Excessive panting or difficulty breathing
• Bright red or pale gums
• Excessive drooling
• Weakness, stumbling, or collapse
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Confusion or unresponsiveness
• Seizures

If you think your pet has heat stroke:
Seek veterinary care immediately—even if your pet seems to improve. Heat stroke is a medical emergency and can cause serious internal damage.

Remember: If it’s too hot for you, it’s probably too hot for your pet too. A little prevention can save a life!

Stay cool and have a safe summer! ☀️🐾
