Your body doesn’t follow the clock on your phone. It takes its cues from light, sleep and daily routines.

With daylight saving time behind us and sunsets arriving earlier, a few small changes can help keep your sleep schedule on track.

Here’s what to focus on this week:
1. Get outside shortly after waking. Morning daylight signals to your brain that it’s time to be alert and helps regulate when you feel sleepy later.
2. Keep your wake-up time consistent. Sleeping in on weekends can shift your internal clock, making Monday mornings harder.
3. Keep meals around the same times. Regular eating schedules help reinforce your body’s daily rhythms.
4. Rethink your afternoon coffee. Caffeine can remain in your system for hours. If you typically sleep around 10 p.m., consider making 2 p.m. your cutoff.
5. Switch to softer lighting after dinner. Bright evening light can interfere with melatonin, the hormone that helps prepare your body for sleep.

And if you’re regularly waking in the middle of the night, experiencing night sweats or feeling exhausted despite enough time in bed, don’t automatically blame the season. Those symptoms deserve a closer look.

Save this for the week ahead.

One of the most effective ways to support better sleep happens long before bedtime.

It's getting outside in the morning.

Natural light is one of the strongest signals your body uses to regulate its internal clock. Morning exposure helps promote alertness and reinforces when your body should feel sleepy later.

With the clocks turned back and evening daylight ending earlier, here are a few other habits worth paying attention to:

1.Keep your wake-up time steady.
Your body responds to consistency, including on weekends.

2.Avoid late-afternoon caffeine.
Coffee can affect your sleep even after its energizing effects have worn off.

3.Dim bright lights in the evening.
Switching to lamps before bed can help reduce light exposure that interferes with melatonin.

4.Eat around your usual times.
Consistent mealtimes provide another daily timing cue.

These changes can help support your sleep-wake rhythm, but they won't resolve every sleep concern. Persistent nighttime waking, fatigue or night sweats may have other contributing factors worth discussing with your provider.

Your health needs change over time. Your care plan should be able to evolve with you.

Whether your goals involve weight management, metabolic health, recovery, or other areas of wellness, having access to additional treatment options allows your care team to consider what may be appropriate as your needs change.

With Peptide Therapy now available at Aligned Modern Health, patients have more options to explore within their existing care, including GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide and tirzepatide, Sermorelin, and topical GHK-Cu, a copper peptide being explored for its potential to support skin health.

When you're working toward a health goal, the treatment itself is only part of the equation.

Take weight management. Research on tirzepatide found that while most weight lost was fat, approximately 25% was lean mass. That's one reason nutrition, strength training and ongoing monitoring deserve attention alongside medication.

And the same principle applies to other health goals: what you're trying to address should guide the care you receive.

Our Peptide Therapy programs span weight management, recovery and performance, gut health, and fertility support, with different clinical considerations for each.
